In India, it is possible to have a same-day court marriage, also known as a “quick marriage” or “instant marriage”. However, the process and requirements for getting married in India vary depending on the laws and regulations of the state in which you wish to get married.

In general, the following steps are involved in a same-day court marriage in India:

  1. Both parties must provide proof of age and identity, such as a passport or Aadhaar card.
  2. Both parties must provide proof of address, such as a utility bill or rental agreement.
  3. Both parties must provide two passport-sized photographs each.
  4. Both parties must provide a copy of their divorce decree (if previously married) or death certificate (if widowed).
  5. Both parties must sign a declaration stating that they are not related to each other within the prohibited degrees of relationship.
  6. Both parties must appear before the marriage registrar along with two witnesses who can vouch for their identity and age.
  7. The marriage registrar will verify the documents and conduct a brief interview to ensure that both parties are entering into the marriage of their own free will.
  8. If the registrar is satisfied with the documents and interview, he or she will issue a marriage certificate on the same day.

It is important to note that some states in India require a waiting period of 30 days after the application is submitted before the marriage can take place. Therefore, it is advisable to check the specific requirements of the state in which you wish to get married before planning a same-day court marriage.
